In order to increase sugar production in the Chhattisgarh State, the State Government have setup a new sugar factory in Kabirdham District namely 'Lauh Purush Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Shakkar Karkhana Maryadit'.
This is the fourth sugar mill in the Chhattisgarh State and second in Kabirdham District. Presently, Chhattisgarh have cooperative sugar factories in Ramhepur village of Kabirdham district, Karkabhat village of Balod district and Krerta village of Surajpur district. Lauh Purush Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Shakkar Karkhana Maryadit (LSPSSK) have set up in Pandariya area of the Kabirdham District.
As per the approved action plan, the daily crushing capacity of this sugar factory is nearly 25,000 metric tons. Nearly 20,000 farmers of Kabirdham area as well as those of Mungeli and Bemetara districts is benefited by the establishment. As per proposed plan, the mill is installed at the cost of 150 crores and a share capital of Rs 10 crore shall be collected from farmers. Adding, with farmers' share in the capital, they will have an important role in management of the factory.
